About

My name is Howard Cohen,  I work as a consultant for a federal agency on matters concerning Service Oriented Architectures, Virtualization, Project Management and System Integration.  I recently became a Community Manager working on the social and technical layers for the DISA Enterprise Forge.Mil.   I have been working as a technologist professionally since 1999 but I have always had some affinity for electronics.

I look at the relationship between people and technology and in consideration of this take a “people first” approach.   What this means is while considering solutions I qualify and quantify every activity with respect to how people will be affected.   A hammer itself won’t build the house and the house is not a home without someone to use it.    Over the years I have found that technologists look at “solutions first” without giving real thought to people.   The fact that I take a different approach means that while I am on your team we will have disruptive and thoughtful conversations concerning people, process, methods and tools.

I care about our world and I care about our interaction with each other.   My family and I believe that we have a responsibility to do the best we can to do good things.   It is our number one job.  My wife Erin our children and I work hard to help others and be good citizens of the world.   We love to share information and we appreciate when we learn from others.

In our house we have 3 rules

  • Take care of ourselves (so that we stay in good shape mentally and physically)
  • Work hard (Take care of our responsibilities in and out of our home.)
  • Play hard (Have fun each day, know and appreciate what we have. )
Simple and effective…
